Ballard, WA

Lock Vista is a 1950 apartment building situated across from the Ballard Locks. In order to compete with the demand of newer properties amenities, the owners wanted to capture their unused basement for a club room and fitness area for their tenants, adjacent to the original outdoor pool. SWW invisioned a speak-easy concept for the new kitchen and club room, fitness room, restroom and corridors. The basement ceiling was brought up, windows were replaced, storefront windows added to the corridor, and more lighting added to create warmth and open the new spaces up to each other.
